Growing up in Oregon she was surrounded by the treasures of nature. Her home state still speaks to her with its breathtaking Pacific Ocean, towering woods, billowing clouds and the array of colorful flowers.
An Arizona State graduate in Interior Design, she pursued a career in this field for many years before devoting herself to another of her passions as an art quilter; winning several awards.
She discovered encaustics inadvertently while trying to find a way to bond rust to a fabric. A new passion was born. She fell in love with hot wax painting. Since then she has been studying this art form with experts from Oregon to New Hampshire, and as far away as Paris, New Zealand, Mexico and Ireland.
Every day finds her in her studio exploring-- sumptuous textures, vibrant colors and the luminosity and depth inherent in encaustics.
